Silicon Connectors had an extraordinary day on 12 September 2020. We went to Hougang and Bedok areas for our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity. In the past few months, our CSR activity was unfortunately disrupted due to Covid-19 pandemic. Following phase 2’s gradual relaxing of safe distancing measures, we decided to pick up from where we left off and restarted our CSR initiatives of spreading love to the community.
To kick-start our engine, we had a good breakfast at a neighbourhood coffeeshop while our CSR in-charge, Hannah, gave us a run down of that day’s food distribution route.
Each food bag came complete with essential items such as rice, oil, milo, 3-in-1 coffee, sugar, rice vermicelli, biscuits, canned condense milk and instant noodles.
As we were meeting the residents for the first time, we also tried to understand them a little more about their difficulties and needs while delivering the food. We focused on only 10 families to allows us more time communicating with each family, listening to their situation, or any additional assistance they might need.
As a company, we appreciated the trust given to us as the families shared with us their personal struggles. This has always been a very meaningful CSR activity that we perform together as Silicon Connectors. Seeing the smiles from our recipients truly warmed our hearts.
*We adhered to social distancing guidelines, had our face masks on, and kept to limited number of people during these house visits.
